Help Protect Our Limited Land Resource

Our work at the Taos Land Trust depends on the support of individuals, foundations, and community organizations collaborating together for the benefit of a greater good. We invite you to become a supporter and help us continue to protect the open spaces that create northern New Mexico’s spectacular vistas, the productive agricultural and ranch lands that help sustain us, and the parks and trails that promote healthier minds and bodies by connecting us with nature.

Rio Fernando Park

Acequias, Tradition and People

Taos Land Trust is beginning the process of revitalizing a 20-acres of wetland and agricultural land next to Fred Baca Park. This project will revitalize a section of the Rio Fernando River, bring an acequia back to life in Northern New Mexico, and restore the once-productive agricultural lands of this property. Once finished, the site will provide our community and its visitors with downtown access to the river and green space through a network of trails.
